The MF Jebsen Group was formed in 2002 following a restructuring of the Jebsen Group of Companies, a family-owned business with a history of continuous involvement in China since Jacob Jebsen and Heinrich Jessen started a trading company in Hong Kong in 1895.

The principal entity is MF Jebsen International Limited, an investment holding company with its headquarters in Hong Kong. The Executive Chairman, Markus F. Jebsen, is a direct descendant of the Jebsen family who captained vessels plying the trade routes between Europe and Asia during the 18th and 19th century.
